Sheringham Little Theatre is a dynamic and much-loved cultural hub at the heart of the North Norfolk coast. Proudly community-driven, it offers a rich and varied programme of live theatre, music, film screenings, and its acclaimed traditional pantomime. With a seating capacity of around 160, it stands as one of the UK’s final strongholds of traditional summer repertory theatre – a rare and treasured part of Britain’s theatrical landscape.
Centrally located opposite Sheringham’s Clock Tower and close to the seafront, the theatre is easily accessible by bus, train, or nearby parking. This intimate venue has become a beacon for both locals and visitors alike, offering a unique blend of professional productions and community engagement. Level access to the café, auditorium, and toilets ensures a warm welcome for all.
Sheringham Little Theatre’s own summer rep season and its much-loved annual pantomime remain centrepieces of its offering, celebrated for their creativity and professional quality. The theatre also stages a diverse lineup of plays throughout the year, ranging from light-hearted farce and spine-tingling suspense to singalong musicals and family favourites. Screenings of major films and live-streamed events from national arts institutions – such as West End productions, opera, and ballet – are regularly shown on the venue’s large cinema screen, bringing world-class performance to the local stage.
In 2024, award-winning actor Suranne Jones became Theatre President. A passionate supporter of grassroots theatre, she visits regularly with her family and brings a hands-on approach to championing the venue’s future.
The theatre is also home to The Hub Café, a warm and inviting space with a theatrical flavour. Whether popping in for a light lunch or cake and a cup of tea, the café is a real community hub with a hint of theatrical magic.
